The game is divided into several worlds, each with a few levels the game is automatically saved after each class. The shots are more powerful when the fist is charged with the “shoot” button. Rayman’s primary weapon is his fist, which can fire projectiles at attacking Hoodlums and other enemies. Rayman, the main character, jumps and punches through various colorful levels, with Globox (and Andre inside him) accompanying him and occasionally commenting on the action. Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc is a third-person platformer in three dimensions. Rayman must save the day and find a cure to rid Globox of the Dark Lord.
Globox has enraged the Hoodlums by eating Andre, the Lord of the Dark Lums, and they intend to reclaim their master at any cost to the world. Globox, Rayman’s friend, has thrown the entire world into peril.
